Uttarakhand, also known as Uttaranchal is a Northern state in India. It is also referred to as `devbhumi’ due to its religious significance and pilgrim places. Located in the foothills of the Himalayas, the state has some stunning landscapes.

Nainital
Located in the Kumaon region of Uttarakhand it is a cool getaway. Picturesque view of the Himalayas, lush green forests and beautiful lakes. Nainital is also referred to as the lake city.
Valley of Flowers
Located in he Chamoli district of Uttarakhand, it boasts of serene gardens that bloom a variety of flowers in the summer season. You can also trek to Hemkund Sahib, a holy Sikh Shrine situated in the valley.
Mussoorie
A popular Hill station known from the British days is referred to as the Queen of the Hills. It offers a panoramic view of the Doon valley and the Himalayas. The Kempty Falls and the Gun Hill Point are popular tourist spots in Mussoorie.
Many famous people like Ruskin Bond, Tom Alter, Sachin Tendulkar are associated with this Hill Station.

Haridwar
It is one of the seven holiest cities in India for Hindus. This is where the holy river Ganga enters the Indo Gangetic plains for the first time. it has temples, ghats and ashrams. The Ganga Aarti at the Har Ki Pauri ghat is a mesmerizing experience that you cannot miss. Millions of people come to take a holy dip in the river Ganga here.
Auli
Is a skiing destination that transforms into lush green meadow in the summer season.
The Char Dham Yatra of Uttarakhand is the most famous for Hindus. It covers the four holy places Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri nestled high up in the Himalayas.
This year 2023 the state government has advised the acclimatization before starting the journey.
As it is located at a height of more than 2,700 metres the government has appealed to pilgrims and trekkers to plan a trip for at least seven days. Take 10 minutes break after every one hour of a trek.
High altitude can cause medical issues of extreme cold, Blood Pressure, low humidity so it’s best to plan things properly and take all the precautions.
