Going on a Weight Loss..Are you?

by Yog Fit

Losing weight is a big concern for many.  It’s not easy and requires a lot of discipline and planning. We suggest our readers to stay away from all gimmicks and stick to a healthy lifestyle and a regular physical activity. Choose any physical cardio activity for an hour everyday and stick to a well balanced diet.

Aim to get fitter and not just to lose weight. It all starts with a decision. And as they say, well begun is half done. First and foremost, it is imperative that you don’t stress over your weight. Accept yourself, the way you are and then work towards the ideal body shape.

It can be achieved by a healthy lifestyle which includes the right diet as well as regular physical activity. One hears of many fads, nowadays, intermittent fasting, keto diet or health supplements such as medicines or pills. However, this is wrong.

Explains, Nutritionist Swati Kharbanda, “One requires a balanced diet with the right proportions of all food groups. More often than not, the food that person is accustomed to eating since birth is the best diet to lose weight instead of trying out different fancy foods.”

An Indian diet is very balanced with proteins, fats, carbohydrates and fibers. Our dals, rice, multigrain rotis, chana, rajma are all healthier options. Also, our spices and herbs such as chillies, cinnamon, cardamom, ginger, jeera, methi seeds, haldi and mint leaves are all full of nutrients.
