Bhumi Phednekar’s fitness regimen and weight loss journey is an inspiration. She gained weight for her role of a overweight bride Sandhya in 2015 for Dum Laga ke Haisha. She gorged on high calorie food like butter Chicken, Paranthas and pizzas for the role.

But, later when people thought she would not be able to get meaty roles she decided to don `a lean avatar.’ She continued to share her fitness and fat loss journey on social media. She went on to do meaty roles and was seen in Toilet Ek Prem Katha and Shubh Mangal Saavdhaan.
In one of her interviews, Bhumi recalled how she was never a skinny girl, but she always had a healthy height and weight proportion.
In her interview to a leading magazine, she shared that to shed off her weight she started doing high intensity exercises. Therefore, she had to first condition her joints and prepare her body for the intense workout slowly and steadily.
Bhumi says, “Self-acceptance and self-love is the key to any fat loss journey. The first thing I would tell anyone who asks me about my weight loss is that you should first come to terms with your body, especially at a time like now where you have so many filters that can help in changing the way you look. One shouldn’t stop using them but one should accept the way you look.”
Her routine included running, working on machines, functional training, swimming and Bollywood dancing. An avid lover of dance, Bhumi believes dance serves as a great way to do cardio, and is an incredible way to tone up if someone wants to infuse a fun element into their otherwise monotonous workout routine.
