No matter how hard we try to lead a simple and healthy life, the fact is that we are living is a world full of toxins. So, even if we eliminate waste through breath, sweat, urine and bowels; yet our intestines, liver and kidney need to be cleaned.
Our vegetables and fruits could be grown with pesticides. Packaged food has preservatives and the water we drink could be contaminated. The toxic overload can take a toll on our physical and mental health. Some toxins are washed out through natural processes, a significant level of toxins gets stored in the tissues and cells of our bodies. This deposition leads to harmful metabolic, reproductive and mental health effects. In several cases, these toxins can also progress to create cancerous outcomes.
The result could be lifestyle diseases, increase in body fat percentage and rising cortisol levels. We also tend to overeat and sometimes eat the wrong foods.
You need to be watchful and listen to what our body is telling us. Are you suffering from constant indigestion problem? Feel bloated and unable to lose weight despite working our regularly. Do you also tend to regain all the weight that you had lost?
Then it is probably time to go on a detox.
Detox doesn’t necessarily mean going in for liquid diet or fasting. But it needs to be planned with fruits, vegetables, smoothies, superfoods and seeds. Aloe Vera juice, Tulsi, Soya Milk, Turmeric, Husk, Flaxseed rotis , Neem, Wheat Grass juice, Vegetable juices, lemon, ginger can all be a part of the detox plan. Depending on your lifestyle, you need to plan this along with your nutritionist.
Liver is the key organ responsible for detoxification and repackaging of the toxins. Fundamentally, it filters everything that goes in your body. It triggers abdominal bloating, acidity, constipation, diarrhea and resistance to losing weight”. It is when your body prompts for detox on an urgent basis.
If you’re feeling tired even after hours of sleep or fatigue at the end of the day, it is a tell-tale sign for you. A long- term toxic load leads to a condition named adrenal fatigue. Your glands can function improperly due to excessive levels of cholesterol from toxins.

Adipose tissues also known as ‘fat cells’ have the tendency to hold onto toxins. Our body recognizes it unsafe to break down these fat cells and release the toxins within the body leading to unwanted weight gain.
Waste removal is an important daily function of the body. Says Nutritionist Rachna Kanwar “Constipation not having bowel movement can be due to lack of fibre , water or even antioxidants in your diet. This can lead to toxins getting absorbed into your bloodstream.”
Along with the detox diet you also need to follow your daily routine of Yoga, brisk walking and drinking eight glasses of drinking water. Moderation is the keyword to follow a good lifestyle. Be mindfull of what you eat and cut down on the white sugar, sweets, oily junk food, white rice and wheat. Have a balanced meal of vegetables, nuts, legumes, dals, fruits seeds and protein. Include some amount of multigrain atta in your diet which includes Bajra, Jowar, Ragi and Flaxseeds
