Last two years have seen an increasing interest in the wellness sector. People and companies also started taking note of health and wellness. The economy and jobs took a huge blow; but people also took charge of their fitness goals, Yoga and immunity. Health comes before wealth became the new mantra.
The food we eat, the exercise plan we choose, the medicines we take and what do we do to detox our gut and cleanse our intestines. Detox and go the natural way. As, we approach 2023, let us look at some of the recent trends.

Holistic Fitness
Mental health is as important as physical health. Couple this with proper nutrition, Yoga and Ayurveda. Nuffield Health’s 2022 Healthier Nation Index study revealed that one in three adults claim their mental health has got worse in the year. Many experience stress and burnout in their work life. Earlier, people ignored it; but now, there’s more awareness and people want to work on their mental health.
Prevention is better than cure
Lifestyle diseases like Diabetes, Blood Pressure, Thyroid and Obesity can be controlled and handled. There’s a growing trend to work at prevention rather than just be addicted to allopathy medicines.
Yoga and correct nutrition can play a huge role in controlling diseases. Plant based proteins, low carb diets, gluten free atta, using seeds and superseeds along with fibre.

Millets is the way forward.

India is known for its millets like Jowar, Bajra and Ragi. These and many more variety of millets have been a part of the Indian diet for long in different states of the country. India is now trying to promote these internationally.

Micro workouts
Heavy gymming, losing weight and building muscle are not the only goals. Just fitting in micro workouts, a simple 20 minute Yoga routine, ten exercises for your back pain or a simple half an hour walk. Training for the marathon, lifting weights at home, doing a simple Pilates routine or just ten Surya Namaskars with a few Pranayamas.
A morning dance, a set of pushups, or squats or just Tai Chi to unwind and relax. Or how about a 15 minutes of Yog Nidra and Shavasana.
Wellness Products and Tools
There are many established brands and many more which will mushroom in the sector. Health drinks, Soy based drinks, protein bars, diet snacks, sugar free sweets, brown rice, multigrain attas and what have you.
Apps and digital platforms will be the new efficient mode of well being. Microcurrent facial tools, red light therapy devices and lasers.
Spiritual Awakening
Spiritual wellbeing, meditation, prayers can help during tough times. We need to nurture our soul and find meaning in life. Life can be tough and very unpredictable at times. The Covid Pandemic has taught us that we need to take charge of our life in all circumstances.
Working professionals often intend to ignore the signs of stress and burnout. They tend to accumulate tension, physical, mental and emotional. Sometimes, there are situations which are beyond our control which are difficult and can affect our well being .
