Celebs and politicians down with the Coronavirus

On March 11 Tom Hanks announced that he and his wife, actress Rita Wilson, caught the virus while traveling in Australia, marking Hollywood’s first high-profile case of the outbreak.  Back home in India, yesterday singer Kanika Kapoor who returned from London recently tested positive for the disease. She was in Mumbai and later attended a few parties in Lucknow and has now been quarantined

This highly contagious virus has taken a toll on the entertainment world. With all shoots stalled, audiences in India who are used to daily serials and weekly Friday Bollywood releases will have to make do with OTT apps.

March 16, Game of Thrones star Kristofer Hivju’s diagnosis, costar Indira Varma has also tested positive for coronavirus. She wrote on Instagram, “I am in bed with it and it’s not very nice.’

A few days ago, Olga Kurylenko, who starred opposed Daniel Craig in the 2008 James Bond film Quantum of Solace, confirmed that she has been infected. British actor and musician Idris Elba shared a video via twitter, to announce that he has tested positive.

On March 19, actor Daniel Dae Kim announced he had tested positive for coronavirus, posting a video on Instagram to share the news. Prior to his diagnosis, Kim was in New York on the set of NBC’s series New Amsterdam

From the corridors of power, the Spanish government announced that the wife of Spanish prime minister Pedro Sanchez tested positive. Prince Albert, Monaco’s Prince Albert II has tested positive for the novel coronavirus.

Brazil’s President Jair Bolsonaro said on Wednesday that Mines and Energy Minister Bento Albuquerque has tested positive for coronavirus. Jeremy Issacharoff, Israel’s ambassador to Germany has tested positive for the coronavirus, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said in a statement March 17
