Sports can be a great way to keep fit. Sports also teach you how to compete, fight, sweat it out, and be a team player. The joy of winning and being graceful when you lose. Here, we just list out a few sports activities that you can choose from.

Athletics

The best way to keep fit is to walk or run. Brisk walking for about 30 to 45 minutes is a low aerobic activity. Running for half an hour could burn around 300 calories. Research shows that while running our body pump out endorphins that keep runners happy. Also, running is very goal oriented, builds tenacity and mental toughness.

Cycling

As children, we enjoyed cycling. You don’t need to compete in order to enjoy cycling. Cycling classes are fun and available everywhere, you can cycle outdoors with a group or take indoor spin classes at your local gym.

Swimming

Swimming is a low-stress activity. A complete physical workout; it is also an awesome sport for your heart. It keeps you at a healthy body weight, improves lung capacity, and builds muscular strength and endurance

Tennis

This is one of the best aerobic exercises on par with jogging and cycling. You can burn up to 600 calories while playing one hour of tennis. All the little but fast movements like sprints, pivots, slams, makes you exert energy in short but powerful bursts. Tennis increase arm strength, coordination, and cardiovascular health.

Rowing

Rowing has numerous health benefits, a low risk of injury, and increased muscle strength. Though, originally an outdoor activity, rowing can be done and enjoyed indoors on a rowing machine.

 Basketball

You have to be very alert and high on energy to play this sport. Builds endurance and improves balance and coordination. Research shows that it develops concentration, increases spatial awareness, and self-discipline. It also fosters great teamwork and sportsmanship skills.

Volleyball

Volleyball got included on the list for the healthiest sports because of its many benefits. This includes increased metabolic rate, improved agility and enhances coordination.
