Heard of the Hunza Tribe? Well, some researchers have called them the` happiest people on Earth’. Living in the Hunza valley in the high lands of the Himalayas, they are also known as the Burusho people. Known for their healthy life expectancy , the Hunzas have a limitless passion and zest for life.
A few decades ago National Geographic ran extensive series of articles to investigate the claims made by some. One such scientist Dr Robert Maccrison, who lived with the tribe for several years said that there’s not a single person diagnosed with cancer or any other disease.

Daily exercise
Most of them follow a rigorous exercise routine and simple diet and lifestyle. Many of them live till the age of 100 and 120. Reports suggest even the elderly population is full of zest and vitality. In fact, one has to keep guessing their age. This has proved to be a mystery for many doctors.
They have no choice but to walk because of the environment in which they live. The villages are isolated and the Hunza people have no choice but to walk the rough passages and steep ridges
Plant based Diet
Hunzas consume a mostly plant-based diet, eaten raw. Because they are so isolated, the Hunzas do not have access to a large amount of fuel for cooking food, nor are there many animals available for eating, so they plant what they can and gather the rest. Fruits and grains form a part of their diet.
They also have good access to fresh water from the lakes.
In today’s COVID scenario, the Hunza tribe have become the center of attraction for people around the world for their long and happy life. A lot of tourists who have lived with the tribe have praised them for their charm and physical vitality.
