Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Maan ki Baat goes live today
The 100th episode of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be telecast live 11 am today April 30th. The radio show is being noticed at the world level and will go live at the headquarters of the United Nations in New York, USA. Indian High Commission in London will also host a special screening of the 100th episode of Mann Ki Baat today.
Mann KI Baat is the monthly radio address of the started in 2014. Here the Prime Minister talks about issues and encourages people from all strata of society.
Speaking about the programme Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “it was public support that led to the success of his monthly radio address.”
According to a survey by the Indian Institute of Management-Rohtak, nearly 23 crore people tune in to the ‘Mann ki Baat’ programme on the last Sunday of every month with 65 per cent of listeners preferring to hear the talk in Hindi.
Key Achievements of Maan Ki Baat
*It also found that the programme is heard more on television channels followed by mobile phones, with radio listeners accounting for 17.6 per cent of the total listenership.
* Started on October 3, 2014. It has become a key pillar of the government’s citizen-outreach program addressing multiple social groups such as women, youth, and farmers.
*Apart from 22 Indian languages and 29 dialects, Mann Ki Baat is broadcast in 11 foreign languages including French, Chinese, Indonesian, Tibetan, Burmese, Baluchi, Arabic, Pashtu, Persian, Dari, and Swahili. Mann Ki Baat is being broadcast by more than 500 broadcast centres of All India Radio.
* The show introduces grassroots innovators working selflessly to ensure a significant difference in the lives of people living in remote areas of India.
* The program highlights government and citizen action in these priority areas and in turn, encourages listeners to establish or participate in “change-making” initiatives in their own communities.
