COVID-19 Surge-Countries have banned flights from India

International tourism is worst hit during COVID-19

Last two months we travel picking up albeit slowly. Maldives, Singapore and domestic travel within India was picking up. But now the  sudden spike in Coronavirus cases in India a lot of countries around the world  have banned flights coming from India.

The travel rules and regulations have changed and become more stringent for the Indian travellers everywhere. As of now, these are the countries that have restricted entry for travellers from India.

UK – The UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson was supposed to visit India, but that got cancelled. And now UK has included India in its “red list” which imposes a ban on entry to the country for all except British or Irish residents. India will be included in the list from 4 am local time on Friday. he ban means that those with valid residency rights returning to the UK after the deadline on Friday face the additional financial burden of compulsory hotel quarantine and tests costs, estimated at around 2,000 pounds per person

The country has also launched an immediate support package for the country in its fight against the ongoing coronavirus crisis.

The Maldives:  Maldives had emerged as he hotspot for Bollywood celebrities but now it  has banned all flights from India starting April 27.

Kuwait: Kuwait’s India ban too came into effect on April 24.

Italy

The country had gone through a similar phase last in the Pandemic. Now, it too has barred entry of foreign travellers who have been in India in the past 14 days.

Hong Kong

The Hong Kong government activated an “emergency circuit breaker,” banning passenger flights from India for 14 days from April 20.

Indonesia

The government has decided not to issue any more visas to people who travelled to India in the past 14 days.

Germany

The country is only allowing German nationals and people with a German resident permit travelling from India to enter Germany. Rest everything is banned.

Canada

Canadian government has suspended all flights from India for 30 days.

UAE

The United Arab Emirates has banned all flights coming from except for cargos for the next 10 days.

New Zealand

Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has banned the entry of travellers from India for sometime now.

France: The country  has banned flights from India, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, and South Africa.

Bangladesh 
Bangladesh has also closed its borders with India for the next two weeks.

Thailand
One of the most visited destinations by Indians, Thailand has also put a ban on travellers from India. The Thai embassy in India has suspended certificates of entry for non-Thai nationals travelling from India.

Netherlands
All flights to and from India will remain suspended till May 1 in the Netherlands.

Malaysia
The Transport Ministry of Malaysia has halted the entry of Indian nationals. The country is also implementing stringent controls for ships arriving from India at its ports.
The USA

The Centres for Disease Control and Prevention has issued an advisory urging Americans not to travel to India at all. India is among ‘level 4’ countries, or among those that now have high levels of COVID-19 cases.

Israel issued a travel advisory on April 22 warning its citizens, including those who have recovered from COVID-19 or have been vaccinated against the viral infection, to refrain from travelling to India, Ukraine, Ethiopia, Brazil, South Africa, Mexico and Turkey.

Though, unlike last year, domestic flights are going on and people who need to travel continue to do so within the country.
