After ten days of testing positive, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson has been admitted to the hospital. On the doctor’s advice Johnson has been admitted for further tests.
On his twitter account Johnson revealed that the fever still persisted after ten days. With the lingering symptoms, the 55 year old has been admitted as a `precautionary measure, as per the official twitter account of Downing Street.
Most people recover from Covid-19 within a week and cannot even be certain they had it, as they probably won’t be tested. The advice is to stay home, rest and take medicines as by the doctor. In 80% of cases, that is the end of it.
But if the symptoms persist, mainly the dry cough, temperature and fatigue after a week, or they get worse, people should seek medical help.
UK Prime Minister tests positive for Coronavirus (27/3/2020
Things seem to be getting really out of control in the United Kingdom. A few days ago Prince Charles tested positive for the novel Coronavirus and now the Prime Minister Boris Johnson has confirmed that he too has tested positive. He has gone into self quarantine. And now maybe many others in the cabinet and government who were in close proximity with him will have to do so.
Looking at the pictures and videos from the country, one can easily see that the political bigwigs continued to attend functions and did not take the due precautions. As of today, there are 11,658 cases of positive cases and 578 deaths in UK.
The first cases appeared in UK in the last week of January from people who had traveled to China. The earliest documented transmission appeared only by end of February. Till such time, the government had taken no strict measures. Similarly, being the state of affairs in the United States. Here, the disease was being `referred to a respiratory illness in Wuhan.
By 1 March, cases had been detected in England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland. Subsequently, Prime Minister Boris Johnson unveiled the Coronavirus Action Plan.
On 11th March, the world Health Organisation declared the COVID-19 as a Pandemic. It was after that the country announced the closing down of schools, colleges, pubs and restaurants. Post March 23rd, these restrictions were tightened further.
The United States of America too has 16000 confirmed cases. In a single day. According to Worldometer, the website that records the number of infections and deaths globally, the number of patients in America is now over 85,600 as per the records. Now, the WHO has declared America as the new epicenter of the disease.
Though one is always wiser in hindsight, experts opine that these countries waited for too long to announce the lockdowns.
